Today we interviewed Igor Barros, he carries Corinthians jersey number 10, and he told us a little bit about how it feels to play for Corinthians.
Ha’ quanto tempo voce joga futebol e ha’ quanto tempo esta’ no Corinthians?
How long do you play soccer and how long for Corinthians?
Comecei a jogar com 4 anos, e ja’ comecei no Corinthians. Estou la’ vai fazer 13 anos ja’.
I started playing when I was 4 years old and I started at Corinthians. I’ve been there for almost 13 years.
Sabemos que voce e’ o camisa 10 do time do Corinthians. Isso te traz mais responsabilidades? Voce gosta da pressão de jogar com a 10 do Corinthians?
We know that you wear Corinthians jersey number 10. Does that bring you more responsibilities? Do you like the pressure to play with Corinthians number 10 jersey?
Acho que só por jogar no Corinthians ja’ traz uma grande responsabilidade, por ser o 10 acho que tem um pouco a mais sim pelos craques como Rivelino, Neto, Tevez, Edilson, Douglas, que ja’ vestiram essa camisa. Sobre a pressão, acho que sem pressão não é bom jogar, o bom é quando todos te cobram, ficam em cima de voce para que voce faça acontecer, adoro jogar sob pressão!
I think that only because I play for Corinthians there is a lot of responsibility. The number 10 brings even more because of stars like Rivelino, Neto, Tevez, Edilson and Douglas that have worn this jersey before. About the pressure, I believe that without pressure it’s not good to play. I like when everybody puts the pressure on me and demand good soccer from me. I like to play under pressure.

What is your dream as an athlete or soccer player?
Sonho em me tornar profissional pelo Corinthians, chegar à seleção Brasileira, ganhar uma Copa e encerrar a carreira no Corinthians.
I dream about becoming a professional player for Corinthians, play for the Brazilian National team, win a World Cup for Brazil and end my career at Corinthians.
Qual foi a sua maior emoção jogando futebol?
What has been the most exciting moment for you while playing soccer?
Todos os jogos pra mim são emocionates, mas acho que a maior emoção foi aos 15 anos quando pela primeira vez joguei com a gaviões no estadio lotado.
Every game is exciting for me, but I believe the biggest moment happened when I was 15 years old and for the first time I played for thousands of Corinthians fans in a crowded stadium.

Have you been to the USA before?
Nunca estive nos Estados Unidos, mas, sempre tive vontade de ir.
No, I’ve never been there, but always wanted to go.
Quem foi ou tem sido a pessoa de maior influencia na sua vida?
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
Primeiramente meu pai e depois meu empresario e procuradores.
In first place my father and later on my managers.

Acho que meu estilo de jogo é parecido ao do Conca e David Silva.

How would you describe the style of play of your team?
Vejo nosso time como um time forte na marcação pensativo e criador no meio e criativo e matador no ataque.
Our team is strong in the defense, thoughtful and creative in the midfield and killer in front of the opponent’s goal.
Qual voce acha que sera’ o maior adversario ou a maior dificuldade do Corinthians na Dallas Cup?
What do you think will be the biggest problem or competition for you at the Dallas Cup?
Bom, não conheço nenhum dos times sem ser por nome. Então acho que Barcelona e Arsenal serão os que darão mais trabalho.
Well, I don’t know the teams except by name. Therefore Barcelona and Arsenal should be our main worries.
O Corinthians vem para ser campeão?
Is Corinthians coming to be the champions again?
Com certeza, todos esses dias de treino tem sido com esse pensamento, não vamos viajar 10 horas para apenas participar, vamos e voltaremos com o titulo se Deus quiser e ele há de querer.
For sure. All these training sections have been done with this in mind. We are not going to travel 10 hours just to participate. We are going to fight for the Championship and come back home with it with the help of God.
