ARSENAL F.C. U18 TEAM TO PLAY IN DR PEPPER DALLAS CUP XXXII APRIL 17-24, 2011

“The English Premier League Academy U18 Champions in 2009 & 2010 Arsenal F.C. will create history in becoming the first ever Arsenal F.C team to play in the USA. We were delighted to receive the acceptance from Arsenal F.C. to our invitation to play in the Super Group this year and were even more pleased and surprised to receive the information that the club had never had an Arsenal team at any level play in the USA during its 125 year history” stated Executive Director Gordon Jago.

To be the very first USA competition to have an Arsenal F.C. team is a great credit to the reputation that the Dallas Cup has throughout the World of Soccer. A reputation that has been built up over the past 31 years by thousands of Dallas Cup volunteers who make the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup possible each year.

To bring 180 teams ages U13 to U19 to Dallas from around the world and the USA world is an achievement that brings pride to all involved with the tournament. With 1200 volunteers and its unique “HomeStay Program” for overseas teams the Dallas Cup is one of the most prestigious International Youth soccer tournaments in the world. To be selected as one of the 180 teams to compete in the tournament is a desire of so many youth soccer team evident by over 400 applications received this year by Tournament Manager, Randy Jones.

“The caliber of teams to play this year especially the Super Group is of the highest level for many years” stated Randy Jones and from the reports that we have received from England of the attacking style and standard of play produced by the Arsenal F.C U18 team in their Premier League Academy Championships we are looking forward to a “Fiesta of good Football”.
