We come to the end- Marcio Leite's U13 and U14 Dallas Texans made their marks yesterday. leveraging their home field advantage, they both pulled out victories in games uncharacteristically to their run of play. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done.
- Sporting Santa Clara is one of few storied club programs in the United States that is not in the USSF Development Academy. Both teams they brought to the Dallas Cup played an impressive brand of soccer. SSC93 dominated their final and came away with well deserve championship in the U15 division.
- U16 California Final. Arsenal FC vs Real SoCal, both has had a solid run through the tournament. look for the two Arsenal FC forwards to make an impact.
- U17 championship has the lone Mexican team, Club Futbol Monterrey, making it to a final. They beat one of my favorites, Chicago Magic ASM, in semi's 2-1. They will go up against one of the revelations of this tournament, the boys from Austin Lonestar Red.
- U19 Solar SC U18 and DTR U18. Just an old fashion backyard brawl among friends who you've play against all your life.
- Whitecaps and SPFC for the Super Group. Dever Orgill will have to figtht through a very stiff Sao Paulo defense. Physically and skill wise, Whitecaps can compete but Sao Paulo possess the tactical smarts that has given them the edge throughout this tournament.
Finally, I want to thank Randy Jones for giving me this opportunity to man this blog for the Dallas Cup. Dallas Cup is many stories but the one that I am proud of the most is being among of the army of volunteers that makes this tournament happen. Please send your thoughts, suggestion and comments to anyone on the staff and board. I thank you for suffering through the grammatical errors and low resolution videos. See you next year!
