Two area 14-year-olds take the ultimate soccer road trip

Pair plays in Dallas Cup XXX tournament

The trip of their young lives was a winning situation on and off the field for Spartanburg 14-year-olds Tanner Eggers and Brett Freed.

Being part of the CESA Premier soccer team based out of Greenville, it was quite a feat just to be selected to play in the prestigious Dallas Cup XXX tournament.

But the talented squad did much more than just show up and enjoy taking part, the team went 3-2 in reaching the U14 semifinals. The age group featured 28 teams from 10 states in addition to England, Mexico, Costa Rica and South Africa....more
