Local Female Star Coach Makes Dallas Cup History

March 2010

Jennifer DePlaza Began her soccer career as a four year old playing in Oak Cliff, Texas and then continuing through Mesquite High School and local Dallas Area club teams before turning to coaching. With her husband "Bubba" they formed "Gator Soccer Club" in 1999 progressing through the Plano Competitive League to gain Classic League Division I status in 2007. Jennifer, evidently an outstanding athlete, also played professional American football for the Dallas Diamonds as a kicker and strong safety in their inaugural season in 2002.

As runner up in the 2009 Classic League Division I under 19 Fall season with a record of 5-3-1, the Gators will make their first appearance in Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup XXXI and Jennifer makes Dallas Cup history in becoming the first woman to coach a boys team in the under 19 age group.

"Our congratulation to both Jennifer and the Gators" stated Executive Director Gordon Jago. "I have been told that Jennifer has not stopped smiling since the Tournament Manager Randy Jones informed her that the team was in the tournament."
